Hollywood actor Timothy Chalamet, soccer star Lionel Messi and Latin pop star Bad Bunny have unveiled the campaign film titled BACKYARD LEGENDS.
Adidas has launched the campaign to mark the 2026 FIFA World Cup, transforming ordinary neighborhood pitches into legendary narratives. The spot delivers a clear message to players everywhere: let go of the pressure—regardless of a field’s size or location—and play freely; that’s where legends begin.
Academy Award nominee Timothy Chalamet leads the film, joined by global icons from sports, music and film, including Lionel Messi, Bad Bunny, Ramin Yamal, Jude Bellingham and Trinity Rodman.
Through Chalamet’s perspective, viewers meet a fictional trio—Clive, Lucy and Isaac—portrayed as local-pitch legends who have embodied the freedom of the game for decades.
They are cast as the kings of the local pitch—rivals even revered 1990s stars such as Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Alessandro Del Piero couldn’t best.
To challenge that seemingly unbeatable side, Chalamet assembles a modern three-player dream team—Bellingham, Yamal and Trinity—setting up a compelling showdown. Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé, Raphinha, Pedri, Florian Wirtz and Santiago Giménez also make cameo appearances, adding depth to the story.
Set against a nostalgic soundtrack, ’90s street fashion and analog textures, the campaign blends cutting-edge CGI with visual effects to convey a simple but powerful message: You Got This.
