BTS concluded the first leg of its Arirang world tour, bringing a sprawling North American run to a close after drawing roughly 840,000 fans. More than a string of concerts, the tour became a significant cultural and economic event in every city it touched.

The tour opened in late April in Tampa and continued through El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford, and Las Vegas. All 15 stadium dates sold out, and additional shows added in several cities likewise sold out quickly. Onstage, BTS wove songs from its latest album, Arirang, with a catalogue of global hits, crafting a narrative that resonated across generations and cultures. One standout moment came during \”Body to Body,\” when tens of thousands joined a stadium-wide singalong of Arirang, transforming the traditional Korean melody into a shared, international experience.

The tour also drove substantial economic activity. Las Vegas estimated an economic impact of up to $200 million during the concert run, and Tampa and other host cities reported similar boosts. Hotels, restaurants, transit services, and retail businesses saw sharp spikes in demand as fans traveled from around the globe — a tangible example of what observers have dubbed \”BTSnomics.\”

The impact reached beyond commerce. Local media credited the group with sparking renewed interest in the Korean language and culture, and universities reported rising enrollment inquiries for Korean studies. In Mexico City, officials extended formal recognition and hospitality — including a visit to the presidential palace — while El Paso proclaimed a special \”BTS Weekend\” to mark the band’s visit.

The North American run also translated into industry milestones. BTS topped major U.S. touring revenue charts and set new benchmarks for both attendance and stadium gross revenue. Those figures underscored the group’s unmatched capacity to fill massive venues while exerting economic and cultural influence far beyond the stage.

The journey is far from over. After completing the North American dates, BTS is slated to play a major concert in Busan this June, then launch a European tour before returning to North America as part of an expanded global project.
