[MyDaily = Reporter Lee Jung-min] Singer Psy issued a personal apology over the venue dispute surrounding his summer headline concert ‘Psy’s Soak Show SUMMERSWAG 2026’ in Gwangju. The show had been publicly announced even though the stadium had not granted permission to use the venue, creating confusion.

On the 29th, Psy posted on his social media announcing a venue change for the Gwangju date. He explained that regional shows rely on local promoters to secure venue bookings and then propose them to P NATION. According to Psy, the Gwangju promoter told them the Gwangju World Cup Stadium booking had been approved, so they announced the schedule — but that turned out not to be true.

Earlier that day, P NATION released the nationwide ‘Psy’s Soak Show 2026’ tour schedule and listed an Aug. 8 performance at Gwangju World Cup Stadium. The announcement immediately drew sharp criticism from fans of Gwangju FC, which uses the stadium as its home ground.

Fans warned that a large-scale water show would almost certainly damage the pitch while the K League 1 season is underway. They also pointed out that Gwangju FC has a home match on Aug. 15, one week after the concert, raising concerns about player injuries and a potential drop in performance.

As the controversy spread, Gwangju FC issued a statement saying the issue could affect home-game operations and the team’s performance, and announced it had denied the stadium-use request. The dispute intensified after it emerged that organizers had released the concert schedule before the stadium gave final approval.

Psy apologized on behalf of the local promoter for the confusion and said they would quickly secure a new venue and announce it. He added that future proposals would be vetted more thoroughly and handled more reliably.

Meanwhile, ‘Psy’s Soak Show SUMMERSWAG 2026’ will begin its national tour on June 27 at Uijeongbu Sports Complex and will stop in Daegu, Incheon, Seoul, Wonju, Suwon, Busan and Daejeon. The Gwangju date will be reannounced once an alternate venue is confirmed.
