With spring temperatures climbing, running season is in full swing—and fashion brands are sprinting to stake their claim in the running-wear market. They’re sharpening both performance and design, while using hands-on events like community runs to deepen connections with consumers.

Global sportswear label Lululemon recently unveiled its 2026 spring running collection. The line leans into performance—ultra-lightweight fabrics and top-tier breathability—while adding visual punch with stripe details and bold color contrasts. Signature running ranges such as Fast and Free, Swiftly, and Metal Vent Tech received new colorways and structural patterns, lifting both function and style.

For bottoms, Lululemon applied its proprietary performance fabric Nulux to wick sweat and speed drying. The silhouettes stay clean and minimal, and practical pocket details are included so runners can carry essentials without distraction. Melanie Anaiotos, Lululemon’s vice president of women’s design, said, “For this spring season we reinterpreted preppy style through a modern, performance-first lens. Engineered leopard patterns, striped mesh and refined silhouettes balance style and function with runners in mind.”

The brand is also doubling down on experience. From March 7–17, Lululemon ran a “Seoul 2026” Run Community Lounge at the Arena Plaza in Jamsil Lotte World Mall. Events included ambassador-led runs and a pre-race “Shakeout Run” to test readiness—drawing roughly 10,000 visitors over the period.

LF’s outdoor label TetonBros rolled out its spring-summer (SS) Strider collection under the theme of ’HYBE‑led running,’ which bridges city streets and trail routes. The line uses lightweight, high-mobility performance materials and pairs product drops with live running sessions so people can try the gear—helping the brand connect with runners in their 20s and 30s. The company will host its first offline running event next month in Hannam-dong, Seoul.

Puma also rolled out a collection aimed at the “urban running” lifestyle, blending everyday wear with run-ready performance. Pieces emphasize clean lines and silhouettes that transition naturally from the run to post-run life, leaning on spring-friendly neutral tones. The range includes two hoodie-style outer layers and is sold as a total package that pairs apparel with running shoes to expand styling options, the company said.

Industry insiders expect competition in the running market to heat up as running evolves from mere exercise into a wellness-driven lifestyle. One source noted, “Running has recently shifted toward community and experience. Beyond product features, the overall experience a brand offers is becoming a key competitive advantage.”
