[Sports Seoul | Reporter Wi Su-jeong] Model and TV personality Jang Yoon-ju got candid about the real struggle of buying lingerie because of her unique proportions.
In a YouTube video titled Jang Yoon-ju’s Underwear Chronicle, posted April 2 on the channel ‘Yoonjure Jang Yoon-ju,’ she said, “I care about underwear as much as I care about shapewear,” then walked viewers through her preferences and how they’ve evolved.
Jang pointed out that Korea doesn’t offer enough variety in lingerie. “There should be more options based on bust size,” she said. “I had a hard time finding bras here.” She remembered, “In my 20s my torso was basically XXS while my cup was a B—there simply weren’t bras that fit.”
She described her current sizing with frank humor: “In my 30s I was a C cup. Now, including some sagging, I’d say I’m between a D and a G.” When the crew suggested she may have been bigger than a B cup, Jang explained, “Because I was so thin, my bust stood out and looked bigger.”
She also shared the practical headaches she faced as a model. Jang admitted she hated visible bra lines, so on overseas trips she’d spend the day trying on every style in lingerie stores and buy whatever worked to build the right wardrobe.
She even revealed a bold phase when she preferred going braless. “In my 20s and 30s I couldn’t stand wearing bras,” she said. “I would use nipple covers or put bandages on in an X shape. Sometimes I’d go completely braless or wear mesh fabrics.” But her thinking has changed for health reasons: “I can’t wear very tight underwire anymore—it upsets my digestion and hurts.” wsj0114@sportsseoul.com
