FILA Underwear debuts ‘Cool Wave’ line
NEPA adopts ‘Micro Air Dot’ fabric

Photo As daytime highs creep toward 30°C (86°F) and summer officially arrives, apparel brands are answering the call with pieces made from cooling fabrics. With an early heatwave already here and forecasts hinting at a brutally hot season ahead, companies are spotlighting underwear, shirts and outdoor gear built for maximum comfort.

FILA UNDERWEAR, run by Misto Korea, launched its Cool Wave line aimed at easing that sticky, suffocating feeling around the chest. Rather than just promising coolness, the collection focuses on sweat management and breathability. It uses a high-performance cooling yarn from Hyosung TNC; a special hydrophilic polymer in the yarn boosts moisture absorption by about 1.5 times compared with standard nylon. The fabric quickly pulls heat away from the skin and releases it, and its moisture-wicking, quick-dry properties keep sweat from clinging. Design choices—like thin shoulder straps and mesh layering—deliver visual freshness and real airflow. Power-net panels at the upper chest and side wings help channel air more efficiently.

The women’s range includes three bra styles—a V-neck, a triangle bra and a bra top—and three bottoms: a classic brief, a T-back and boxer-style trunks. Every women’s bra is wire-free for comfort. The men’s line features a 35mm special cool-performance waistband to reduce tightness around the waist and comes as a five-pack of trunks with a dual pouch zone that separates key areas to prevent heat build-up and boost comfort.

Photo Outdoor brand NEPA unveiled its 26SS summer collection designed to tackle sweat, humidity and stickiness.

The lineup uses an upgraded Micro Air Dot fabric that keeps the material from clinging to skin for a comfortably airy feel. It also incorporates recycled nylon from Italian premium maker Carvico Jersey Romelina, combining a cool-to-the-touch sensation with strong stretch.

A NEPA spokesperson said, “Summer is no longer just about heat—changing humidity and temperature swings create a mix of uncomfortable conditions. This collection goes beyond basic cooling to reduce overall summer discomfort. Our goal was to set a new standard for summer apparel that blends function and style.”

Eider rolled out the Cool + Pleats series, pairing pleated fabrics with its own cooling technology. The pleats cut down the fabric’s contact with skin, lowering perceived temperature while encouraging airflow to keep you feeling cool longer.

The Coolitz Ice line uses nylon cooling yarn to boost contact cooling and keep pieces lightweight. The standout product, the Coolitz Ice men’s short-sleeve polo, adds an “ice neck” treatment at the collar—an area sensitive to temperature changes—to amplify the cooling effect. Coolitz Air items use polyester cooling yarn for extra lightness and enhanced moisture-wicking, quick-dry performance.

K2 introduced the Siwon Seersucker series. The fabric’s densely wrinkled surface reduces how much of it touches the skin, delivering a notable cooling sensation. More than ten million tiny air pockets between yarns increase breathability and help expel sweat and heat quickly.

The Siwon Seersucker series uses Carvico’s cooling nylon and comes in two sublines: the Ice Waffle line and the Dry Ice line. The signature piece, the Siwon Seersucker Ice Waffle Polo, leverages the seersucker weave for strong cooling performance and recorded a sell-through rate above 95% after its debut last year.
