A woman’s post about her boyfriend turning up to dates in clothes he bought at Daiso has ignited a fierce online debate.

She says it’s less about the clothes and more about his refusal to consider her feelings.

On the 11th, she posted on an online forum under the title “Boyfriend Who Wears Daiso Clothes.”

The poster, identified only as A, says her boyfriend—two years her senior—wears Daiso T-shirts even on dates.

She says she’s asked him several times to dress up a bit when they go out.

He reportedly said he wears them because they’re comfortable and has stuck to his usual look.

For her, it’s not just about cheap clothes—it’s that he blatantly ignores her opinion, which has left her feeling distant.

His continued attitude has her even considering a breakup.

Once the post went public, reactions split. Some argued that at the very least you should show a little respect for your partner on a date.

One commenter wrote, “It’s not that Daiso clothes are bad, but it’s a problem to insist on them when your girlfriend says she dislikes them.” Another added, “You’re not just popping by the corner store—turning up to a date in a Daiso tee looks thoughtless.”

Another chimed in, “How you dress is a sign of respect for the other person—he seems to be taking the relationship too casually.”

But others defended him, saying neatness and personal taste matter more than price tags.

Several pointed out, “Daiso clothes are fine if they’re clean,” and “Being thrifty and value-conscious is nothing to be ashamed of.”

Some went further: “That’s way better than flaunting designer labels,” and “Isn’t someone’s character more important than the brand they wear?”
