On May 19, Starbucks Korea will unveil three Korea Raon pieces that reinterpret traditional Korean aesthetics for a modern audience. The collection pairs elegant line drawings with an iridescent aurora sheen, fusing iconic motifs—dancheong, tigers, and magpies—with contemporary design.
The lineup includes a Korea Raon mug (414 ml) and two SS Korea Raon tumblers (355 ml and 473 ml). Practical yet stylish, these pieces are perfect as travel souvenirs or everyday staples. “Raon” is a pure Korean word meaning “joyful” or “happy,” chosen to inspire positive memories for visitors to Korea who shop at Starbucks.
Packaging highlights illustrations that translate the flowing curves of traditional Korean patterns into chic line drawings, enhancing their collectible appeal and giftability. An iridescent finish on the surfaces delivers a refined, dimensional look, while the thoughtful placement of motifs—dancheong, tigers, and magpies—visually marries heritage and modern flair.
Lee Sang-mi, Starbucks’ marketing manager, said, “We designed this collection to blend the beauty of Korean tradition with modern design and give our global customers a special experience.” She added, “We’ll continue to introduce distinctive products that reflect diverse lifestyles and current trends.”
