Mega Coffee topped the list as the food-and-beverage brand Koreans paid at most frequently, while Starbucks led in total spending.
On the 11th, WiseApp·Retail, a market and competitor analysis service that uses real-time app and payment data, released a study estimating payment amounts and transaction counts for major food-and-beverage retail brands.

WiseApp·Retail sampled Koreans’ credit- and debit-card payments and found that over the past six months (September 2025–February 2026), Starbucks was the food-and-beverage brand Koreans spent the most money at.
Using Starbucks’ estimated payment amount as the benchmark (100), Paris Baguette/Paris Croissant came in second at 95.6. Mega Coffee followed with 53.5, McDonald’s with 52.9, and A Twosome Place with 45.7.
Ranks six through ten were Lotteria (35.6), Compose Coffee (31.6), Burger King (29.5), Tous Les Jours (29.3), and Kuukuu (25.4). After that came Mom’s Touch (25.2); Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts tied at 23.5; Ediya Coffee (20.1); Subway (19.0); and Outback Steakhouse (18.4).
Looking at average monthly transaction counts for the same period, Mega Coffee led with 36 million transactions, showing the highest visit frequency. Paris Baguette/Paris Croissant and Compose Coffee tied for second with 23 million transactions each, and Starbucks ranked fourth with 20 million.
McDonald’s recorded 17 million transactions; A Twosome Place had 12 million; Paik’s Coffee and Lotteria logged 9 million each; and Burger King and Ediya Coffee each reached 8 million.
Tous Les Jours and Baskin-Robbins/Dunkin’ Donuts recorded 7 million transactions apiece; Mom’s Touch and Ten Percent Coffee each had 6 million; and Hasamdong Coffee recorded 5 million.
WiseApp·Retail said the study estimated amounts paid through the listed services using Koreans’ credit- and debit-card payment data.
The analysis was based on information shown in consumers’ payment records. It excluded bank transfers, cash transactions, gift-card payments, and payments made through platforms such as online/offline shopping malls and delivery apps.
