[RealFood = Reporter Yook Seong-yeon] Foodpanda, Taiwan’s leading delivery platform, released its 2025 delivery service data report.
According to KATI, the export information service of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. (aT), more than 90% of beverage orders in Taiwan opted for the “Low Sugar” and “Less Ice” choices. Despite the island’s subtropical climate, consumers are favoring green and oolong teas served at room temperature or with minimal ice rather than overly chilled drinks. The trend reflects Taiwanese shoppers’ emphasis on health and balance.
Subscription models are also gaining momentum. Foodpanda’s Panda Pro membership grew 25% in 2025, signaling that delivery apps are evolving into full shopping platforms rather than just meal services. Subscribers are using daily discounts to buy everything through the app—from bubble tea and treats to fresh produce and household essentials.
Long-distance orders have become routine. The report shows young consumers placed roughly 50,000 long-distance orders each day to send items to parents back home. Adult children used the app’s location settings to place remote orders for older relatives less familiar with delivery apps, buying fresh items like enoki mushrooms, chicken breast, kiwifruit and cabbage, along with various household goods. Analysts say Foodpanda is breaking down city and regional borders and effectively serving as a caregiving tool for parents.
The share of higher-priced menu orders also climbed sharply year over year. Notable items include “fresh lobster steamed noodle soup,” “seafood tomato omelet rice topped with gold leaf,” and specialty duck dishes—a sign that delivery platforms are encroaching on fine-dining territory.
An aT official recommended targeting Foodpanda’s health category with a “K-Healthy Tea” concept, adding that consumers are likely to favor sugar-free, zero-calorie products such as kombucha, barley tea and corn-silk tea.
