[JoyNews24 Reporter Kim Yang-su] Chef Yoo Yong-wook—who fans recognize from Netflix’s Black & White Chefs 2 as the head of the Barbecue Research Lab—is teaming up with Burger King for a new collaboration.

On March 23, his agency Duover Entertainment announced that a Burger King item co-created with Chef Yoo will hit menus in April.

The partnership marries Yoo’s expert smoking techniques with Burger King’s signature flame-grilled patties, promising a bold, smoky twist on a classic. Yoo was hands-on throughout development to faithfully recreate the beef rib flavor that defines his restaurant Imok Smoke Dining, helping refine the recipe down to the last detail.

To celebrate the launch, Yoo will host a surprise Whopper Truck tasting on April 1 in Seongsu, Seoul, where he’ll introduce the new burger and meet fans in person.

Yoo first drew widespread attention for his distinctive grilling on Netflix’s Black & White Chefs 2, and his restaurant recently earned a place in the Michelin Guide Seoul 2026.

Beyond product collaborations, Yoo has made regular media appearances on popular shows like MBC’s I Live Alone and The Manager. He also served the main course at a Blue House state dinner during Korea–Brazil exchange events, using food to help bridge cultures.

Meanwhile, Yoo has signed an exclusive contract with Duover, the agency founded by singer-producer Gray, Code Kunst, and Woo Won-jae.
