By Oh Du-hwan of The Public — Le Méridien Seoul Myeong-dong is launching a limited-time culinary event that pairs Texas-style barbecue with French desserts. It’s part of a broader trend: hotels creating bold, experiential dining to attract guests.

The hotel says its all-day dining spot, La Palette Paris, will host the Taste of Texas & Touch of Paris promotion through June 30. Expect smoky, meat-forward Texas dishes alongside a Parisian dessert buffet for a playful city-meets-city mashup.

The event leans into smoke-kissed barbecue and a dessert-first approach, aimed at delivering both a satisfying meal and a memorable experience.

“We’re combining the contrasting food cultures of two iconic cities to offer a distinct dining experience,” the hotel said.

The meal opens with table-served appetizers featuring caviar and tuna belly. A canapé station follows, channeling the French aperitif tradition so guests can graze before the main event.

The mains spotlight Texas-style barbecue. The kitchen smokes and grills an array of meats—premium short ribs, brisket, strip loin, flap meat, lamb chops and LA-style short ribs—served with popover bread, roasted vegetables and signature sauces to broaden the choices.

The buffet has been expanded, too: seasonal sashimi and other seafood join Chinese, Korean and broader Asian selections. The hotel’s signature gelato is on the lineup as well.

Dinner and weekend bookings include an extra dessert collection—about a dozen sweets—plus unlimited wine and draft beer. Note that weekday lunch omits some of these perks.

Prices are KRW 79,000 (about $59) for weekday lunch and KRW 139,000 (about $104) for dinner and weekends. Discounts are available through Naver Reservations and partner membership programs.
