Singer Kangnam excited fans on his YouTube channel Neighborhood Friend Kangnami [Kangnami] by highlighting must-buy snacks from Japanese supermarkets.

In a video uploaded on the 16th, Kangnam filmed a mukbang in which he devoured ultra-sweet, addictive breads and desserts—treats that could send his blood sugar soaring.

Even after eating ramen for dinner, he perked up at the sight of his favorite snacks and launched into lively, passionate reviews.

YouTube

The first item he showed was the \”Nice Stick,\” a bread often called a national favorite in Japan. Launched in 1977, it boasts nearly 50 years of history and is also Kangnam’s mother’s favorite.

Kangnam praised the filling—not ordinary whipped cream but a custard blend—and said it practically disappears the moment you dunk it in milk. He called it a little bit of magic.

He even cracked a joke about a friend who went to Waseda University and supposedly studied while snacking on this bread, drawing laughs from the crew.

Next, he introduced the long-standing \”koppepan,\” made since 1948, along with several meal-style breads filled with mayonnaise and ham.

Kangnam highlighted what makes Japanese supermarket breads special: a pillowy texture, thin crust, and fillings packed to the brim.

He especially praised the \”Usukawa\” series for its paper-thin crust that gives a chewy, mochi-like bite while remaining stuffed with filling—arguing that every bread should be like this.

The red bean and cream combinations, which appeal to Korean tastes, even captivated the on-set staff.

In the dessert segment, the \”Nameraka Pudding\” stood out as Kangnam’s clear No. 1 pick among many options.

He said the pudding is popular across Japan but fits Korean palates especially well, and even dared viewers to call him out in the comments if they disagreed.

To show off the pudding’s silky texture, he even dipped it into bread during the mukbang, sparking viewers’ curiosity.

In the ice cream corner, he featured Garigari-kun—famous for the brand’s heartfelt apology when it raised prices by 10 JPY (≈ $0.07)—alongside several ultra-sweet products.

Kangnam admitted he felt his blood sugar spike but couldn’t stop indulging. In the video’s later moments, he playfully demonstrated the drowsy slump that follows a sugar overload, earning big laughs.

He promised to showcase snacks from not just Japan but other countries in future videos, and closed by asking fans to leave their snack recommendations in the comments.
