Discover the Top 10 Noodle Restaurants in Pohang for 2026: A Culinary Journey

Daniel Kim Views

[iNews24 reporter Jinwoo Lee] Pohang City in North Gyeongsang announced the final picks for the 2026 Pohang Noodle Favorites (Noodle Road 10), an initiative that spotlights local ingredients and traditional recipes as the city reinvents itself as a culinary tourism destination.

Noodle Road 10 aims to unearth noodle dishes that capture Pohang’s history and culture and transform them into must-visit food attractions. Since March, the city completed the selection process with an initial on-site review by a citizen participation committee followed by undercover expert assessments in the second round.

The undercover expert panel evaluated everything—from broth depth and noodle technique to each restaurant’s unique backstory and its potential to grow as tourism content—focusing on building credibility in the selection.

The 10 picks for 2026 Pohang Noodle Favorites are: Guksu Iyagi (Noodle Story), Daebakgol Myeonjangjip, Daecheon Restaurant, Four Seasons Restaurant, Samyuk Restaurant, Aqua Bell Restaurant, Wolpo No. 11, Jeong Guksu, Jukdo Cave Kalguksu, and Taeyang Seafood Kalguksu.

Pohang City plans to give the chosen businesses a full promotional push to strengthen their brand competitiveness. The city will ramp up digital outreach aimed at Millennials and Gen Z with card-style social posts and short-form videos on official channels, and by collaborating with influencers and a citizen food-taster group.

The city will also grant the selected shops priority placement at the 2026 Pohang Sunrise Noodle Festival, scheduled for the second half of the year, to showcase Pohang’s signature flavors to domestic and international visitors.

\”This effort to identify noodle favorites is a starting point to turn Pohang’s modest but deep flavors into a nationally recognized culinary brand,\” said Lee Seong-su, director of Pohang City’s Food Industry Division. \”I expect the selected businesses to become central figures in promoting the region’s food culture.\”
