Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency announced on the 7th that they will recruit participants for the May session of the upscale culinary program “Gyeonggi Connecting Table,” which pairs seasonal ingredients with traditional values. Applications will be accepted from May 11 through May 14.

The event is scheduled for the 29th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Gyeonggi Food Plaza cooking studio in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon.

Master Lee Gi-suk, Korea’s certified Food Artisan No. 43, will appear in person to bring the generations-old Gamhongroju to life, sharing its deep flavors and noble philosophy through vivid storytelling.

Participants will get to taste the master’s Gamhongroju and join a hands-on workshop to craft their own modern take: a signature Gamhongroju chocolate infused with the liquor’s subtle herbal notes.

The program is free for all Gyeonggi residents, but to keep the experience intimate and high-quality with the master, only the first 20 applicants will be accepted.

Applications open at 10:00 a.m. on May 11 and close at 6:00 p.m. on May 14. Interested participants can apply easily via the Gyeonggi Food Plaza KakaoTalk Plus Friend or through the Gyeonggi Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency website.

Park Jong-min, director of the Gyeonggi Province Department of Agricultural, Marine and Life Sciences, said, “Through this unexpected pairing of traditional liquor and chocolate, residents will rediscover the rich value of our food culture. We hope this offers busy people a memorable, sweet pause—a chance to appreciate traditional liquor more deeply and enjoy our culinary heritage in a fresh, delightful way.”
