Starbucks Launches Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino: Your Ultimate Summer Refreshment Guide for 2024

Starbucks Korea will start selling the Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino at stores nationwide beginning May 11. The company moved the launch up 11 days from last year’s May 22, responding to forecasts that predict early-summer temperatures starting in mid-May.

The drink is a caffeine-free addition for the 2024 summer season. It pairs the bright tartness of grapefruit with sweet mango over a smooth coconut base, delivering vivid color and tropical fruit flavor. The beverage was a hit after its debut, selling a cumulative 6.7 million cups last year, and has since become one of Starbucks’ signature summer menu items.

Starbucks plans to follow this release with a lineup of summer-ready drinks, ranging from fruit-forward options to crisp iced coffees. The company began selling a Watermelon Juice Blended across all Seoul stores on May 7 and introduced two bingsu-style blended treats in April.

From May 11 through May 24, Starbucks will run a promotion for Starbucks Rewards members to celebrate the Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino launch. Rewards members who purchase the drink with a Starbucks Card, an account-linked easy payment, or with a Starbucks Samsung Card or StarTravel Woori Card registered through the easy-pay option can earn up to three Stars.

Choi Hyun-jung, Starbucks’ director of food and beverage development, said the company moved the release date up so customers could enjoy the Grapefruit Mango Coco sooner amid forecasts for an early heat wave.

Since 1971, Starbucks has ethically sourced and roasted high-quality Arabica beans worldwide and now operates stores across the globe offering premium coffee. With a focus on quality and corporate ethics, the company aims to deliver the special Starbucks experience to customers—one cup at a time.
