Sushi Toro’s Controversial ‘Vomit Fee’: What You Need to Know About Dining Etiquette

Daniel Kim Views

Translation result. 기사 A Spanish all-you-can-eat restaurant has started charging a ‘vomit fee’ after a spate of customers vomited from overeating.

On May 12 (local time), Oddity Central reported that Sushi Toro, an all-you-can-eat restaurant in Helves in the Seville area, posted a notice warning it may charge customers an extra fee if they vomit on the premises. The notice did not specify how much the fee would be.

In the notice, Sushi Toro said, “If a guest eats so much that they vomit, the restaurant may charge an additional fee to cover damages.”

Sushi Toro’s all-you-can-eat price ranges from €16.90 (about 30,000 KRW, about $22.50) to €23.90 (about 40,000 KRW, about $30.00), depending on the day and time.

The restaurant said incidents of vomiting from overeating have recurred over the past few months. It added, “We strive to maintain hygiene and serve food promptly. Because this problem affects other customers, we ask for your cooperation.”
