Starbucks Launches Summer Favorite: How the New ‘Jamangko’ Frappuccino is Set to Refresh Your Season

[iNews24 reporter Da-wit Jeon] Starbucks Korea announced it will begin selling its summer signature drink, Jamangko (Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino), starting on the 11th. The launch arrives 11 days earlier than last year.

First introduced in 2024, Jamangko is a caffeine-free blend that pairs zesty grapefruit and juicy mango with a creamy coconut base. With its vivid coloring and full-on tropical vibe, it became an instant summer sensation—selling 6.7 million cups to date and solidifying its spot as Starbucks’ go-to seasonal pick.

Kicking off with Jamangko, Starbucks plans to roll out a summer beverage lineup that ranges from fruit-forward sips to ice-cold coffees made for sweltering afternoons.

Earlier, Starbucks started offering a Watermelon Juice Blended at all Seoul stores on the 7th, and in April it introduced two bingsu-style blended items as part of its summer rollout.

With the heat coming earlier than usual, other café brands have also jumped into early summer launches.

Twosome Place rolled out three new bingsu last month—black sesame red bean, apple mango, and classic red bean—and added three ice-only ube items to tap into the global ube trend. Those new iced options, combined with warmer weather, helped boost Twosome Place’s iced beverage sales by about 15% in early May (May 1–5) compared with the previous week.

Tous Les Jours, operated by CJ Foodville, recently unveiled three summer items, including bingsu and fruit smoothies, while Ediya Coffee introduced six bingsu varieties, including cup bingsu, to cater to a wide range of tastes.
