Jet-setting foodies, take note: Korean Air is rolling out a pre-order in-flight meal service for first-class passengers on long-haul flights departing from overseas, starting June 1.

The service lets you pick your in-flight menu before departure. Korean Air first tested pre-ordering on select international Prestige-class routes on Jan. 1, 2023, then expanded it to international first-class departures from Korea on Oct. 10, 2024. Now, that same option will be available to first-class travelers on long-haul flights leaving foreign airports.

The rollout covers nine routes: Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C., in the U.S., plus Paris, London and Frankfurt. Pre-ordered meals will start being served on flights departing June 22 and after.

The service is available to any first-class passenger on those Korean Air routes. You can reserve your preferred meal on Korean Air’s website or mobile app from 21 days up to 24 hours before departure.

When you pre-order in first class, you can choose both the 1st Meal and the 2nd Meal in advance. For each meal, pick the main course first—Korean, Western, or vegetarian—then select the matching appetizer and soup. Korean Air is also adding vegetarian options exclusive to the pre-order menu, separate from the regular offerings.

A Korean Air spokesperson said the airline is expanding the pre-order service—already proven on Korea departures—to overseas flights to deliver a more personalized, premium dining experience for first-class customers. The airline expects the change to boost passenger satisfaction and make in-flight meal operations more stable.
