| Shin Hye-sun Opens Up About Her Multi-Faceted Role in Netflix’s ‘Lady Dua’ |
Netflix’s upcoming series “Lady Dua” took center stage at a press event in Seoul on February 10. Director Kim Jin-min joined stars Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk to discuss the highly anticipated show.
The gripping drama follows Sarah Kim (Shin Hye-sun), a woman desperate to embody luxury, even if it means living a lie, and Mu-gyeong (Lee Jun-hyuk), a detective determined to unravel her web of deception.
Shin portrays the enigmatic Sarah Kim, while Lee brings to life the relentless detective Mu-gyeong, hot on Sarah’s trail.
During the event, Shin shared her enthusiasm for the complex role of Sarah Kim. “I was craving a genre piece, and ‘Lady Dua’ fit the bill perfectly,” she revealed. “The story’s focus on a single woman with multiple identities was incredibly intriguing. The mysterious ending had me hooked from the start.”
The actress admitted to grappling with the challenge of portraying such distinct personas. “I initially worried about my ability to truly differentiate the characters,” Shin confessed. “However, we achieved clear visual distinctions, and the director and crew were instrumental in establishing unique atmospheres for each identity.”
Shin praised the costume and makeup team for their innovative approach. “They drew inspiration from facets of me that hadn’t been seen on screen before,” she explained. “Each character had a distinct concept, and I’m grateful for how they transformed me to embody each role.”
