Actress Um Ji-won Undergoes Surgery After Ankle Fracture

Um Ji-won’s YouTube channel released a video on the 5th titled “Unexpected Emergency: Um Ji-won’s Urgent Surgery During Vacation.”

Last month, Um suffered a fracture while vacationing in Japan, prompting her to return to Korea for immediate surgery.

Describing the incident, Um explained, “It wasn’t a skiing accident. It was a freak accident caused by a series of unlikely events. My shoe got caught in a manhole, trapping my foot, which caused my ankle to twist.”

The actress revealed the extent of her injury: “The main bone was shattered, and some smaller bones broke as well, requiring fixation. This experience led me to an important realization. While people often talk about being born with a silver or gold spoon, there’s a more crucial advantage – the ‘muscle spoon.’ That’s the real game-changer.”

Currently on the mend, Um reassured her fans, “I know the sudden injury must have been alarming, but I’m recovering well. Please don’t worry. I’ll share updates on my swift recovery and rehabilitation progress soon.”

Um Ji-won is known for her roles in films like “Hope” and “Missing: The Other Side,” as well as TV series including “Birthcare Center” and “Little Women.”
