Why Actor Yoon Kyung-ho Struggles to Open His Wallet: Insights from ‘Pinggye-go’ Episode 100

[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Yoon Kyung-ho stole the spotlight with his quick wit on the web variety series ‘Pinggeugo.’
The show’s 100th episode, which was posted recently, brought together actors Joo Ji-hoon, Kim Nam-gil and Yoon Kyung-ho.
On the episode, Yoon explained why he still keeps his wallet tightly closed even as his profile rises. He said that, while dating his wife, the two had their fortunes read and were told his chart shows money slipping away. He compared himself to a monkey that only reaches for a single fruit when it’s hungry, scraping by on small bites. His wife was worried after hearing that, and he recalled telling her, “I don’t know where the fruits are, but I’ll pick them all and give them to you.”
He went on to say that, despite working hard last year, his bank account showed little to show for it. Their accountant advised them to be more frugal. Their eldest child is 11, and Yoon noticed the kid wastes money in a lot of ways, too. So the family gathered and announced, “Starting today, our household motto is frugality.” Their daughter stuck out her tongue in response. That’s why he still finds it hard to open his wallet.
Yoon also mentioned a small cameo in the 2013 film The Face Reader, appearing beside Lee Jung-jae’s Prince Suyang. “I was one of the five henchmen next to Prince Suyang,” he said. “I stood at the far right. The voice that shouts ‘Prince Suyang, here!’ is mine. The director tried several voices and picked mine.”
