The evolving emotions between Park Min-young and Wi Ha-joon in the seventh episode of Siren have sent viewers into a tailspin.

In tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama Siren, the dynamic between Han Seol-ah (Park Min-young) and Cha Woo-seok (Wi Ha-joon) has shifted from suspicion and curiosity to a more personal interest, intensifying the series’ romantic-thriller stakes. As the two draw closer, anticipation for the later twists only grows. Here are the key moments when their feelings began to shift.

Han Seol-ah and Cha Woo-seok’s relationship started with mutual distrust. Insurance investigator Cha became suspicious of chief auctioneer Han after Royal Auction deputy auctioneer Kim Yoon-ji (Lee Elia) tipped him off. The pattern—Seol-ah’s former partners had named her beneficiary on life-insurance policies, canceled them, and then died soon after—triggered Cha’s instincts.

Seol-ah, for her part, pushed back hard against being labeled an insurance murderer without solid evidence. Their tense standoff—each refusing to give the other an opening—created a charged, dangerous atmosphere.

How did a relationship born of suspicion begin to change?

Their parallel paths began to converge when Cha’s curiosity deepened. Kim Yoon-ji, who had been stalking Seol-ah, intercepted private conversations that revealed emotional wounds Seol-ah had hidden. Hearing Seol-ah describe losing her family as a child and surviving on her own, Cha was reminded of his own dead sister and began to worry his investigation might unnecessarily hurt her.

When Seol-ah attended the funeral for her late fiancé Yoon Seung-jae (Ha Seok-jin) and crumbled under the family’s accusations, Cha felt a mix of pity and a growing inquisitiveness about her. Seol-ah’s startled response when Cha said he wanted to understand her suggested their relationship was changing its emotional tone.

From suspect and investigator to partners hunting the true culprit?

Suspicion and caution have softened into curiosity, and that curiosity has developed into genuine concern. After Cha protected Seol-ah from an unexpected accident and spoke first about trust, she began to lower her defenses, sharing not only details of her past but also her current feelings. The contrast with their initial encounter made her faith in Cha palpable.

Cha, meanwhile, accepted Seol-ah’s account and has been working tirelessly to unmask whoever has subjected her to repeated misfortune. Willing to take risks to find the truth, Cha even positioned himself as Seol-ah’s next potential partner to observe how the real culprit would react, staying close to establish his presence. Seol-ah joined his tactic actively, and the two now cooperate toward the same goal.

In this way, Seol-ah and Cha have evolved from suspect and investigator into a singularly focused pair headed toward the same destination: the truth. With the culprit’s identity still shrouded, viewers are left wondering how this unlikely partnership will resolve.

While promoting Siren on the YouTube channel of Jo Jjae-jazz, Park Min-young recalled a romantic scene with Wi Ha-joon and said he mentioned he hadn’t done many romance roles—adding that the kiss was only his second or third. Park, who has more experience in romance projects, teased that a third kiss would feel like a “newcomer” effort and joked, “A newborn at kissing.” She went on to describe a moment on set: after the director called “cut,” Wi unexpectedly pressed his lips to hers in a way she described as “almost devouring,” which genuinely startled her. She added that the move felt so intense she thought, “That’s practically suction.” After the clip circulated, some viewers criticized her remarks as inappropriate and said they could be misinterpreted as sexual in nature.

The story of Park Min-young and Wi Ha-joon’s bait to catch the real culprit continues in episode 7 of Siren, which airs at 8:50 p.m. on the 23rd.
