[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] MBC’s new Friday–Saturday drama ’21st Century Grand Madam’ unveiled its main poster, showcasing IU and Byeon Woo-seok in fairytale-like visuals.
On the 30th, MBC released the ballroom poster for its upcoming series ’21st Century Grand Madam,’ starring IU and Byeon Woo-seok.
Set in a fictional 21st-century constitutional monarchy version of South Korea, the drama follows a chaebol woman who seemingly has it all but is legally a commoner, and a king’s son who is denied everything. Their story is a status-defying romance about two people who carve out their own destinies.
In the poster, Seong Hee-joo and Prince Ian waltz beneath sparkling lights in an opulent ballroom. Their striking visuals outshine the ornate setting, conjuring the image of a princess and prince meeting in a storybook dance.
The way they clasp each other’s hands while dancing amplifies the scene’s romance. Though their union begins as a contract marriage, Seong Hee-joo and Prince Ian both look genuinely excited and slightly bashful—leaving viewers eager to see how their newlywed life unfolds.
With this main poster, ’21st Century Grand Madam’ teases the sweet chemistry between Seong Hee-joo and Prince Ian, the royal couple representing a 21st-century constitutional monarchy. Even if the pairing starts as a contract marriage, audiences are intrigued to watch the two take each other’s hands and move toward a shared future.
The production team said the main poster was meant to capture the waltz between Seong Hee-joo and Prince Ian—briefly glimpsed in the teaser—as if it were a romantic memory meant only for them. They added that they hope viewers feel the same enchantment when they see the unforgettable ballroom scene, and asked audiences to follow the couple as they walk hand in hand toward the future they both desire.
MBC’s new Friday–Saturday drama ’21st Century Grand Madam,’ which will feature a heart-fluttering waltz from dream pairing IU and Byeon Woo-seok, premieres on April 10 at 9:40 p.m.
