The Tanhyeon-myeon Council of Village Heads reported on February 10th that they visited four military units in the area, including the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, on February 4th and 6th. During these visits, they delivered gifts and expressed gratitude for the soldiers’ dedication to service.

The council maintains a tradition of visiting military units during major Korean holidays like Lunar New Year and Chuseok to provide support and boost morale.

This year’s delegation included over 20 village heads, led by Council Chairman Yoo Jae-geun. The group delivered 200 boxes of beverages to the troops as a token of appreciation.

Chairman Yoo remarked, “We hope this small gesture brings comfort to the soldiers who are unable to return home during the holiday while fulfilling their duty to protect our nation.” He added, “Our council is committed to maintaining strong ties with our local military units.”

Tanhyeon-myeon Mayor Lee Tae-hee commended the effort, stating, “The dedicated service of both residents and soldiers in our border region allows our community to live in peace and security.” He expressed satisfaction in being able to convey the community’s gratitude during the Lunar New Year holiday.
