On March 14, the Democratic Party of Korea condemned North Korea’s ballistic missile launch into the East Sea and said it would join the government in maintaining a robust security posture to defend peace on the Korean Peninsula.
In a statement, floor spokeswoman Baek Seung-ah said, “North Korea’s calculated missile provocations and shows of force threaten peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and undermine the efforts of the international community.”
She added, “Military provocations and displays of force bring no benefit.” She strongly urged North Korea to immediately halt actions that escalate tensions and to return to dialogue and cooperative measures aimed at securing peace and prosperity on the peninsula.
