The Defense Ministry announced on April 2 its 2026 plan for civil servant recruitment exams for the military. It plans to hire 2,646 new civilian employees—2,352 through open competition and 294 through experienced-hire recruitment.
The openings are distributed by grade: four at grade 5, nine at grade 6, 141 at grade 7, nine at grade 8, and 2,483 at grade 9. By service branch, the Army is allocated 1,793 positions, the Navy 412, the Air Force 270, and units directly under the Defense Ministry 171.
Recruitment notices from the Defense Ministry and each service are available online. Applications open on the 23rd via the ministry’s website; written exams are scheduled for July, followed by interviews in September.
The Defense Ministry also separately announced plans to recruit 709 personnel with disabilities (30 at grade 7 and 679 at grade 9) and 200 regional hires at grade 9.
