US Troops in Iran: Shocking Food Quality on Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln Revealed

Translation result미 [Herald Economy] Reports have emerged that U.S. service members deployed amid tensions with Iran are being served deeply inadequate meals.

The U.K. Telegraph published photos on the 17th (local time) showing meals aboard the carrier Abraham Lincoln and described the images as a “horrific sight.”

USA Today reported the photos were sent to a sailor’s family by a sailor assigned to the Lincoln.

One tray in the images contained a single slice of precooked gray-processed meat, boiled carrots and a dry patty.

The tray’s compartments were largely empty — three of five sections held nothing.

Meals aboard the amphibious assault ship Tripoli, redeployed from Japan to the Middle East, appeared similarly sparse.

A Marine on the Tripoli sent his family a photo showing a small handful of shredded meat and a single tortilla.

That Marine told his family the ship’s coffee machine was broken and that fresh vegetables and fruit had been exhausted long ago.

The Telegraph highlighted the stark contrast with meals served to U.S. forces before the current Iran crisis, when service members were reportedly receiving steak and lobster.

Earlier, a U.S. government watchdog found the Pentagon had spent $93 billion as of last September, depleting portions of its budget before the fiscal year ended; according to the report, $15.1 million went toward steak purchases and $6.9 million toward lobster tails.

Families worried about their deployed loved ones have been sending care packages, but delivery has been inconsistent.

After the outbreak of hostilities, postal service to troops stationed in the Middle East was suspended, leaving thousands of food parcels sitting in warehouses.

A Sailor aboard the Tripoli warned in March that supplies were close to running out and, with no scheduled port calls before the mission ends, troop morale risked deteriorating sharply.

Iran seized on the reports to mock the United States.

Iran’s embassy in Tunisia posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Unbelievable,” and taunted, “This is what Trump feeds his troops to open the Strait of Hormuz.”
