Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the operation to eliminate the forces behind the Hamas terror attacks has entered its final phase. At his weekly cabinet meeting on the 17th (local time), Netanyahu vowed, “We will eliminate every person who planned the massacre and the hostage-taking, down to the last one,” and added, “We are very close to completing that mission.”The day before, Israeli forces said they killed Izz al-Din al-Haddad, a Gaza-based Hamas leader and a commander in the al-Qassam Brigades, in airstrikes on Gaza. Netanyahu called al-Haddad “a vile terrorist.”On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas carried out a surprise attack on Israel that killed roughly 1,200 people and abducted about 250. Israel responded with broad retaliatory operations, saying it has since killed senior Hamas figures, including political leader Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif.Israel has also conducted airstrikes in Lebanon targeting senior figures in the Iran-aligned militia Hezbollah. Lebanese media reported that a missile strike on an apartment in the eastern city of Baalbek killed Islamic Jihad commander Wadel Abdel Halim. Lebanese authorities said the strikes killed seven people across Lebanon, including children and Abdel Halim’s 17-year-old daughter.#Netanyahu #Israel #Hamas #Gaza #Lebanon #HezbollahYonhap News TV — For inquiries and tips: KakaoTalk/Line jebo23.
