Iran’s Drone Threat Surges: US Intelligence Warns of 6-Month Recovery

Daniel Kim Views

On the 20th (local time), CNN, citing U.S. intelligence officials, reported that Iran has resumed limited drone production during the ceasefire and is rebuilding its military and defense industry faster than expected. Sources say Tehran is rapidly restoring missile bases, launch pads and key weapons-production capabilities that were damaged in U.S. and Israeli airstrikes.U.S. officials warn that if President Donald Trump were to resume military operations against Iran, Tehran would still pose a significant threat across the Middle East. CNN also reported that Iran could offset weakened missile production by launching more drones, raising the risk of drone strikes against Israel and other regional states.Timelines for restarting production vary by component, but U.S. intelligence estimates Iran could fully restore its drone capabilities in as little as six months. \”The Iranians have accelerated the recovery timetable ahead of what the U.S. intelligence community expected,\” one official told CNN.Another source said Iran’s rapid rebuilding reflects several factors, including support from Russia and China and the fact that Iran did not sustain as much damage as U.S. and Israeli planners had anticipated. Sources say China continued supplying missile-manufacturing components to Iran during the conflict, though those shipments may have tapered off under current U.S. sanctions. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jakun denied the allegations at a press briefing, calling them unfounded.Reporter: Jang Hyo-inAudio: AI dubbingProduction: Lee Jin-gyun#Iran #Israel #MiddleEast #drone #missile #military #defense #recoveryYonhapTV news tips and inquiries: KakaoTalk/LINE jebo23 Lee Jun-heum (humi@yna.co.kr)
