K-pop sensation AILIT is making waves in Japan with impressive music and album sales.

The Japan Record Association reported on the 10th that AILIT’s Japanese debut single, “Toki yo Tomare” (時よ止まれ), has achieved Gold Disc certification after shipping over 100,000 copies as of January.

The association awards certifications monthly based on cumulative shipments: Gold (100,000 copies), Platinum (250,000 copies), and Double Platinum (500,000 copies). This Gold Disc certification for their Japanese debut showcases AILIT’s growing popularity and influence in the country.

“Toki yo Tomare” captures the fleeting, sparkling moments of youth with four addictive tracks that showcase AILIT’s unique sound. Following its September release, the single quickly topped the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking and Billboard Japan’s Top Single Sales charts. The title track and B-side “Topping” gained further traction as theme songs for TV shows and commercials.

AILIT’s impact extends beyond physical sales, with their streaming numbers telling an equally impressive story. Their debut track “Magnetic” achieved Double Platinum certification (200 million streams) from the Japan Record Association in just ten months – a record for female K-pop groups in Japan.

“Almond Chocolate” became the fastest international artist song released last year to reach Gold certification (50 million streams) and snagged an Excellence Award at the prestigious 67th Japan Record Awards. “Lucky Girl Syndrome” also hit the Gold mark last August, solidifying AILIT’s streaming dominance.

The group is set to capitalize on their success with their first tour, “AILIT Arrival: Press Start.” The seven-city tour kicks off March 14-15 at Seoul’s Ticketlink Live Arena before heading to Japanese stops in Aichi, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hyogo, and Tokyo, concluding with a finale in Hong Kong.
