[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] K-pop group QWER teamed up with fans to carry out a heartfelt act of giving.
QWER (Chodan, Magenta, Hina, Siyeon) recently donated 30 million KRW (about $20,100) to the Seoul Asan Medical Center Children’s Hospital. The contribution, intended to improve care and treatment conditions for pediatric patients, came entirely from proceeds of a flea market the group held with their official fan club Bawige on the 1st of last month.
To show support for a fan battling illness, QWER personally visited the children’s hospital. The members spent meaningful time with young patients, including pediatric cancer patients, taking part in arts activities and sharing warm moments.
QWER said they were grateful to help the children’s care even in a small way and expressed sincere hopes that the children will overcome their illnesses and achieve their dreams.
The donated funds will be used to upgrade clinical facilities and medical environments for pediatric and adolescent patients, support home medical care for seriously ill children, and run psychological healing programs.
Meanwhile, QWER will hold an encore concert — QWER 1ST WORLD TOUR ‘ROCKATION: HOMECOMING’ ENCORE IN SEOUL — at Ticketlink Live Arena in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, from the 20th to the 22nd. The show will cap off the finale of their debut world tour and is expected to showcase refined band performances.
