Hosted by the Jung‑gu Cultural Foundation, the Jung‑gu Wednesday Concert is a free, daytime program held in the Chungmu Art Center lobby on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.

The series is designed to bring music into people’s everyday lives. By lowering the barrier to entry, it expands engagement with local residents and offers visitors of all ages who use the Chungmu Art Center and Chungmu Sports Center a welcoming, music-filled space.

The program operates as an open stage that features established professional performers alongside conservatory students and emerging artists. The foundation plans to broaden participation further to build a performance ecosystem that spans generations and experience levels. Organizers say the initiative will deliver a richer slate of concerts for audiences while giving participating musicians practical stage experience and opportunities to grow.

On the 15th, soprano Jeong Hye-wook, tenor Im Cheol-ho, and pianists Lee Ho-jun and Kim Sang-heon presented a varied program — from classical pieces and art songs to musical theater numbers — and drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Upcoming performances include the \”Men’s Qualifications\” youth choir (May 6); a solo concert by composer and guitarist-vocalist Kang Ye-young (May 20); and a one‑piano, four‑hands recital by pianists Kim Sung-hyun and Lee Chan-mi (June 17).

The Jung‑gu Cultural Foundation said it will continue to cultivate the lobby as a place where people of all ages can encounter music in everyday life. Performances are free and open to the public with no advance registration required. The foundation is also accepting volunteer performers who share the program’s mission; applications are available on the Jung‑gu Cultural Foundation website.
