By Jeong Hye-won, SPOTV News — K-pop group 82Major returned intent on presenting a new image.

On April 28, the group held a showcase for their fifth mini-album, FEELM, at Yes24 Wonder Rock Hall in Changcheon-dong, Seoul. “We want to show our own new style,” they said.

The release arrives about six months after their fourth mini-album, Trophy, which debuted in October of last year.

FEELM is a blend of “feel” and “film,” a concept the group says frames a series of emotional moments as if they were captured on a single reel. Kim Do-kyun described the record as an effort to present the band’s range of emotions like scenes from a film.

The five-track project includes the title song “Sign,” along with “W.T.F (What’s the Fuss),” “Cage,” “Circles,” and “Yessuh!” All members contributed to the writing, composing, and arranging, reaffirming 82Major’s identity as a self-producing group.

The title track “Sign” frames the exchange of emotion and the growing closeness between two people as a “signal” shared between them. Anchored by a memorable hook, the song showcases a more mature side of 82Major.

Nam Seong-mo said he believes the group can present a fresh, distinctive 82Major image and demonstrate their growth and maturity.

Park Seok-jun outlined the choreography’s focal move: during the chorus they use wrist gestures that flow like the sweep of a clock’s second hand.

Hwang Seong-bin said the group intentionally pursued sounds they enjoy. Selecting the songs and preparing the album felt fun, he said, and he expects that sense of enjoyment will reach listeners.

Yoon Ye-chan admitted the concept felt daunting at first because it was new to him, but working closely with the other members helped him settle into it.

Visually, the group also underwent a shift for this comeback. Kim Do-kyun said they leaned into a mood of maturity; combined with the members’ performances and experimental choices, he felt the music could stand out.

Jo Seong-il cited the members’ close relationships as a core advantage. “Our teamwork and cooperation are strong,” he said. “We joke around, but when it’s time to work on songs, that teamwork shows. We offer clear ideas and bold feedback, and that results in good music.”

Yoon Ye-chan pointed to the group’s visual presence and height as distinguishing features, while Park Seok-jun emphasized the band’s sincerity and enjoyment in creating their own music as their greatest strengths.

When asked whom they’d like to feature in a challenge video, Nam Seong-mo named actor Lee Byung-hun, noting the choreography evokes the mood of a memorable scene from the film Inside Men.

Park Seok-jun said he’d welcome a collaboration as a gesture of thanks after BTS’s Jungkook reposted something they had uploaded to social media.

Looking ahead, Hwang Seong-bin said the album centers on love, and he hopes listeners will be inspired to give and receive affection after hearing it.

Jo Seong-il acknowledged how crowded the comeback season is and said the group’s goals include reaching a wide audience, earning strong results on music shows, and charting. “We’ll keep growing to make better music,” he added. “We want to show 82Major’s progress and hope more people discover our work.”

82Major’s new album FEELM was released at 6 p.m. that day.
