[SPOTV News—Reporter Kim Ji-ho] Park Hye-kyung made a quietly powerful return to televised music stages, leaving a lasting impression with her signature emotional delivery and solid live vocals.
On May 8, she appeared on KBS2’s Music Bank to perform her new single, “Dreams Don’t Melt.” Back on a music-show stage for the first time in roughly 15 years, she drew viewers in with a clear, ageless tone and controlled, assured singing.
She took the stage in a bright floral dress and a white cap, projecting the warm, optimistic presence she’s known for. From the opening notes, her clear, delicate voice filled the space. As the song unfolded, a deepening emotional intensity and unwavering live performance combined to deliver a poised, commanding set.
“Dreams Don’t Melt” reflects on dreams and hope that endure even amid hardship. Park’s plaintive tone and the song’s lyrical melody offer listeners a comforting, encouraging message.
She also attracted attention with an appearance on the YouTube channel One Mic, where she spoke candidly about her life. She said she never expected to share a stage with current idol acts and, looking back, revealed that she transferred several song copyrights during a financially difficult period.
She said she had already handed over songs such as “Goodbye”—which Joy’s remake brought renewed attention to—and “Red Sneakers,” later covered by IU, to her former company years ago. She added that she’d heard royalties for “Red Sneakers” had surged as much as 180-fold, a remark that surprised many.
Park plans to continue promoting the new single, appearing on music shows, variety programs and radio as she maintains a steady public presence in the weeks ahead.
