Jack White Returns to Korea: What to Expect from His 2026 Solo Concert

Daniel Kim Views

(The CEN News / Reporter Seoyeon Ahn) Jack White, one of the defining voices of 21st-century rock, will return to South Korea for the first time in nearly four years.

A 12-time Grammy winner, White is scheduled to headline a solo concert at Yes24 Live Hall on Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.

White first made his mark on the global rock scene after forming The White Stripes with Meg White in 1997 and releasing the breakthrough album White Blood Cells in 2001.

The band’s signature track, “Seven Nation Army,” became famous for its unforgettable guitar riff and earned a Grammy for Best Rock Song. Albums that followed — including Elephant, Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump — each took home Grammys in the Best Alternative Music Album category.

After The White Stripes disbanded, White launched a solo career with 2012’s Blunderbuss. Every solo album he has released has reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard album chart. The title track from his second solo album, “Lazaretto,” won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance and underscored his lasting impact.

He has also broadened his musical range through projects with bands such as The Raconteurs and Dead Weather.

Following 2022’s Fear of the Dawn and his fifth solo album, Entering Heaven Alive, White returned to South Korea as part of The Supply Chain Issues Tour. Critics and fans praised his virtuosic guitar work and high-energy performances.

After releasing his 2024 album No Name, he went on to headline several South Korean festivals, drawing enthusiastic crowds. This upcoming solo show — his first full headline visit to South Korea in about four years — has generated considerable anticipation.

Tickets go on sale at noon on May 15. An artist presale will take place the day before, from noon to 2 p.m. on May 14.

Live Nation Korea, the South Korean arm of Live Nation — the world’s largest concert promoter — is presenting the show. The company has previously brought artists such as Paul McCartney, Coldplay and Bruno Mars to South Korea and is a major force in staging global concert tours for local audiences.
