Singer Jay Park and rookie hip-hop group LNGSHOT released their collaborative mixtape, 4SHOBOIZ Vol. 2: 4SHOVILLE, on various online music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 18th.
4SHOBOIZ Vol. 2: 4SHOVILLE is a joint mixtape from Jay Park and LNGSHOT. It channels a denser, rawer energy than LNGSHOT’s previous release, 4SHOBOIZ MIXTAPE.
Jay Park and LNGSHOT have moved beyond a conventional label-and-artist dynamic. Operating as a single unit under the 4SHOBOIZ family, they have crafted an album that reflects a shared vision and authentic commitment to their sound.
The title track, YEAH! YEAH!, hits like a stadium chant — gritty synth bass underpinned by chant-like hooks and confident vocals. The members deliver bold, unfiltered lyrics that make their stance unmistakable.
Other tracks include 4SHO 4SHO, which uses the 4SHO motif to project swagger and self-assurance; NO HI, NO HEY, a spare, candid flow that confronts pressure and responsibility; RUN IT UP, a testament to relentless dedication to music; GUKBBONG, which drives full-throttle from start to finish; and MOYA, a frank portrayal of the excitement and awkwardness of new love.
Two remixes — THE PURGE 4SHOMIX, reimagined through Jay Park and LNGSHOT’s perspective, and PUBLIC ENEMY 4SHOMIX (Feat. DJ Wegun) — round out the project to eight polished tracks that should please listeners.
The music video released with the mixtape has also drawn attention. Against backdrops of abandoned buildings, unusual structural forms and massive screens, the video pairs rhythmic choreography with colorful hoodies and jerseys, projecting a fresh, streetwise style.
