President Lee Jae-myung approved appointments and commissions for 4 members of the Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission.

In an evening statement on the 31st, Blue House spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung said the president appointed Go Min-su as a standing commissioner and commissioned Yoon Seong-ok, Lee Sang-geun and Choi Soo-young as non-standing commissioners.

These appointments bring the commission to 6 of its 7 seats, meeting the quorum of 4 required for decision-making.

Go Min-su, a law professor at Kangwon National University and a former reporter for JTV Jeonju, was nominated by the Democratic Party and appointed as the commission’s standing commissioner.

The president also commissioned Yoon Seong-ok, a media and visual studies professor at Kyonggi University nominated by the Democratic Party, as a non-standing commissioner. He commissioned Lee Sang-geun, a business professor at Sogang University, and Choi Soo-young, chair of the Seoul One-Person Media Content Association, both nominated by the People Power Party, as non-standing commissioners.

The People Power Party’s standing-commissioner slot remains vacant after the National Assembly plenary rejected nominee Cheon Young-sik on Feb. 26.
