Park In‑dong, the Democratic Party candidate for mayor of Namdong District, said he will pursue six major transportation reforms and use an administrative fast‑track to bring project start dates forward.

On April 8, Park outlined three core projects: constructing the GTX‑B transfer center at Incheon City Hall; accelerating the start of construction on the Second Gyeongin Line; and expanding Section 1 of the Yeongdong Expressway while fast‑tracking the Sorae Interchange (IC).

He also proposed three additional initiatives to position Namdong as a regional transport hub: adding an express stop at Incheon Nonhyeon Station on the Suin‑Bundang Line; building four new stations in Namdong on the Yonghyun–Seochang Line; and introducing express service on Incheon Metro Line 2.

He said he will establish a Metropolitan Transport Network Support Task Force within the district office and implement an administrative fast‑track to shorten permit timelines.

Under this plan, the district office would simplify the administrative procedures required for coordination between developers and Incheon City when developing the GTX‑B Incheon City Hall transfer center.

He emphasized, \”Even for national projects, the district mayor’s commitment to on‑site administration determines whether they succeed.\”

On accelerating construction of the Second Gyeongin Line, Park pledged to serve as a bridge between the central government and local residents.

He said he will personally mediate interagency delays or resident disputes that could arise after private‑investment feasibility studies, to keep projects on schedule.

To expand Section 1 of the Yeongdong Expressway and fast‑track the Sorae Interchange, he said he will coordinate closely with the Korea Expressway Corporation and Incheon City.

Park also outlined plans to modernize Namdong’s rail network. He argued that adding an express stop at Incheon Nonhyeon Station on the Suin‑Bundang Line is economically sensible because the station already has a four‑track layout suitable for express service.

He plans to add four stations on the Yonghyun–Seochang Line within Namdong and to re‑examine express service for Incheon Metro Line 2, pushing to have those measures reflected in city policy.

Park said, \”Large‑scale transport projects depend heavily on the central government and Incheon City, but their success and pace hinge on the district mayor’s will. I will marshal all the district office’s administrative resources to streamline permits and proactively incorporate residents’ concerns into project plans.\”
