Jang Da-ah takes her first step into theaters with ‘Salmokji’, which opens on the 8th. The film begins when a mysterious shape appears on a Salmokji road-view image. When the crew travels to a reservoir to reshoot, they encounter something lurking in the black, bottomless water. Jang Da-ah plays Se-jung, the rookie PD who runs a horror channel and joins the production to capture high‑view content.

Jang Da-ah has consistently left memorable impressions with each project, earning strong audience responses. She made her debut in the TVING original series ‘Pyramid Game’ as Baek Ha-rin, delivering a chilling performance that shifted between villainy and unsettling ambiguity. She followed that with the Genie TV original drama ‘Geumjok Gateun Nae Star’, playing Im Se-ra and embodying the look and vulnerabilities of a young star — from fresh romantic excitement to hidden pain. Her demonstrated range has heightened expectations for what she’ll do next.

Now, she ventures into horror with ‘Salmokji’. In the trailer she opens with the line, “People say that place has long been known as a spot where you can meet the dead,” a moment that immediately raises the stakes. The preview cuts between her curious probing — digging at the ground and scanning with devices to detect spirits — and a sudden, terrified reaction when she sees something no one was meant to see. That shift ramps up the tension and focuses attention on the extreme scares she delivers in the film.

‘Salmokji’, which also stars Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, Kim Joon-han, Kim Young-seong, Oh Dong-min and Yoon Jae-chan, opens in theaters on the 8th.
