Pocheon Hospital Partners with Volunteer Center: Exclusive Health Check Benefits for Local Volunteers

Daniel Kim Views

Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province is taking significant steps to enhance welfare for local volunteers through a collaboration between the city’s Comprehensive Volunteer Center and Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Pocheon Hospital.

On the 9th, the hospital announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the city’s Volunteer Center to provide comprehensive health check-ups for outstanding volunteers.

Under this agreement, the city’s top volunteers will receive preferential benefits for comprehensive health screenings at the Pocheon Hospital Health Check-Up Center.

This initiative is being hailed as a policy that offers tangible health benefits to volunteers who have previously been asked only for their dedication.

The project aims to improve volunteer welfare and officially recognize the value of community service activities.

Moving forward, the hospital and center plan to systematically promote the outcomes to elevate the social status of volunteering.

Dr. Baek Nam-soon, Director of Pocheon Hospital, stated, “We hope this serves as an opportunity to repay the hard work of volunteers who have quietly dedicated themselves to our community. As a public medical institution, we are committed to growing alongside our community.”

Seok Yu-hwa, Acting Director of the Pocheon City Volunteer Center, emphasized, “This agreement is crucial for promoting volunteers’ health. We will continue to expand practical support and benefits.”

The health check-up support program will operate throughout 2026.

Interested volunteers can make individual reservations through the Pocheon Hospital Health Check-Up Center.

Community leaders are viewing this initiative as a symbolic shift in the perception of volunteering from “sacrifice” to “respect.”
