Professor from Sungkyunkwan University Leads Anyang's AI Innovation — Smart Anyang AI Academy Hosts AI Conference

The city of Anyang held the Smart Anyang AI Academy’s inaugural AI conference on the 12th at 2 p.m. in the city hall auditorium, inviting Professor Choi Jae-bung of Sungkyunkwan University. 

The event was organized to respond to the rapid advancement of AI technology and to strengthen public servants’ ability to use AI in their work. 

Professor Choi delivered a lecture titled \”Administration Transformed by AI, Anyang’s Future Opened by AI.\” A noted author of books such as Phono Sapiens and AI Sapiens, he outlined recent AI trends, summarized the key points of the Basic AI Act, and offered practical guidance on applying AI in public administration. 

This year, the city is implementing an \”AI-centered city transition\” policy coordinated by its newly established AI Strategy Bureau. 

A city official said, \”In the age of artificial intelligence, public servants’ AI capabilities directly affect the quality of administrative services. We will expand training and support so that public servants can respond proactively to change and help build Anyang into a city of AI innovation.\” 

Going forward, Anyang plans to offer phased, job-specific AI training tailored to different skill levels, introduce AI work-support services across all departments, and foster a culture of AI use throughout city administration.
