Mayor urges smooth progress on city corporation headquarters construction

On March 13, Uiwang Mayor Kim Seong-je toured the construction site for the Uiwang Urban Corporation headquarters, stressing the need for rigorous safety oversight and the inclusion of amenities for local residents.
The mayor visited the site at Sam-dong 580-1, received an update from project officials on construction progress, and reviewed on-site safety measures.
He verified whether meeting rooms, offices and an auditorium are being configured to fully support the corporation’s operational needs. He also urged the project team to allocate adequate space and circulation for resident-focused facilities — including a vocational training center, multipurpose conference rooms and a café — and to ensure these features are designed for convenient public use from the outset of construction.
Mayor Kim said the new headquarters will serve not only as the corporation’s administrative center but also as a multifunctional hub for job placement support and vocational training. He called on the construction team to place a high priority on safety and to take all necessary steps to keep the project on schedule.
Meanwhile, the Uiwang Urban Corporation headquarters is under construction with a total floor area of 6,140 m² and will consist of two basement levels and five above-ground floors. Officials are aiming for completion in the first half of this year.
