Around 1:18 p.m. on the 23rd, a fire broke out at a food-supply warehouse in Ido-dong, Donghae, Gangwon Province. Emergency crews extinguished the blaze after roughly three hours.

When the fire began to show signs of spreading, officials declared a Level 1 response at about 1:31 p.m., mobilizing personnel and equipment from nearby fire stations.

Responders deployed 95 personnel and 31 pieces of equipment. By about 2:10 p.m. they had the main flames under control, and the fire was declared extinguished around 4:26 p.m.

The fire partially destroyed one warehouse building and one vehicle. Four workers evacuated the site, and no injuries were reported.

Thick black smoke spread across the area, prompting 19 emergency calls to 119. Donghae City sent an emergency alert advising drivers to detour around roads near the building and instructing anyone inside to evacuate outside.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and assessing the full extent of the damage.
