Ulsan police confirmed belatedly that commanders in its tactical unit abused their authority over subordinates and were disciplined.

The Ulsan Police Agency said on the 23rd that it disciplined and reassigned Tactical Unit Inspectors A and B last month for workplace harassment and related misconduct.

According to police, separate misconduct reports against the two team-level commanders were filed in December last year.

Inspector A assaulted a subordinate during training, and Inspector B demanded money from a subordinate.

During the internal probe, Inspector A said the conduct was meant as an expression of camaraderie, but police judged it to be harassment.

Inspector B said he had borrowed the money and returned it to the subordinate, but police concluded he had improperly demanded funds.

A Ulsan Police Agency official said the agency will carry out inspections and provide training to eradicate abusive conduct.
