KBS Reporter Faces Dismissal After Drunk Driving Incident: What You Need to Know

[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] A current KBS reporter caused a drunk-driving crash while on duty.

According to Yonhap News and other outlets on the 5th, a KBS reporter identified only as A struck several parked cars while driving under the influence in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 3rd.

Authorities say there were no injuries reported from the crash.

Police, who confirmed the reporter’s intoxication at the scene, plan to summon the reporter in the near future to investigate the circumstances and to pursue formal charges.

KBS removed the reporter from their post and placed them on administrative leave immediately after learning of the incident.

KBS stated, \”We removed the driver from their position as soon as the incident was discovered. All persons involved in the (drinking) matter will be referred to the disciplinary committee. We will conduct a thorough investigation and apply a zero-tolerance policy.\”
