[Sports Today reporter Im Si-ryeong] Broadcaster Seo Yu-ri, who has disclosed that she was a victim of stalking, has shared an update on the case.

On April 7, Seo posted a lengthy message on her social media, saying that after she publicized the matter and broadcast outlets began reporting on it, a third temporary protective order was issued on April 6.

She wrote that this is the first, the second, and now the third. During these three temporary protective orders, the perpetrator has never once been punished. In the meantime, I had to file petitions and was treated as a suspect, she said.

Seo emphasized that protective measures are designed to shield victims. But temporary protective orders do not punish perpetrators; they only secure the victim’s space for a time and do not deter a perpetrator’s intent. Each time a temporary order ends, the victim must go through the process again. I have endured that three times, she said.

She appealed to the judiciary for strict sanctions, noting that even after the perpetrator filed a retaliatory complaint, he has not been detained or punished in any way and remains free today. I am preparing a fourth measure, she added.

Seo also said on the 5th that she filed a criminal complaint against the perpetrator under the Stalking Punishment Act and related statutes, alleging stalking since 2020. Instead, the perpetrator has accused her of defamation — both for false statements and for statements of fact — and she was reportedly forwarded to prosecutors as a suspect, drawing attention.
