The written exam is scheduled for the 30th of next month. Practical exams for each discipline will run from August through October, and final results will be announced in December.

The national horse industry certification began in 2012; this year marks its 15th edition. To date, 1,357 people have been certified: 758 horse trainers, 109 farriers, and 490 rehabilitation riding instructors.

The Korea Racing Authority administers the exam on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and also provides hands-on continuing education for certificate holders.

Woo Hee-jong, chairman of the Korea Racing Authority, said the certification program has produced verified professionals who are being deployed in the field. He added that the authority expects broad participation from skilled candidates, which will help strengthen the industry’s competitiveness.
