Cheongju adds new thank-you gifts to its Hometown Love Donation Program to offer donors special benefits. Cheongju City

Cheongju City announced on April 19 that it will add new thank-you gifts to its Hometown Love Donation Program to give donors added benefits. Through May 15, the city will hold an event that will randomly select 50 donors who donate at least 100,000 KRW (about $75) to receive an additional thank-you item.

The event applies to donors who contribute at least 100,000 KRW (about $75) to Cheongju City and have requested a thank-you gift; entrants are entered automatically with no separate registration required. The city will select 50 winners by lottery and award each winner one newly added item from three categories — ▲cosmetics, ▲desserts, and ▲products produced at self-sufficiency centers and sheltered workshops for people with disabilities. The new items are the Roa Chojung Sparkling Water Gel, Daecheong Rice Sand, and the Daomi Nurungji set.

The city said the promotion is aimed at encouraging donations during the typically slow first half of the year and at improving donor satisfaction by increasing the chance of winning. “We expect the additional items will allow donors to experience a wider range of thank-you gifts,” a city official said. “We will continue to raise the quality of our gifts and run the Hometown Love Donation Program so that both donors and residents are satisfied.”

The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate to a local government other than their place of residence and, within an annual limit of 20 million KRW (about $15,000), receive tax deductions and thank-you gifts.
