Translation result[Provided [Herald Economy (Daegu)=Reporter Kim Byung-jin] The Daegu City Happiness Promotion Agency and the Yeongnam branch of the Korea Labor-Management Development Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Daegu City Happiness Promotion Agency on the 21st to promote a culture of work–life balance.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly roll out programs aimed at reducing actual hours worked and embedding work–life balance practices.

They plan to recruit participating companies, encourage use of work–life balance policies, and provide practical support such as management consulting and workplace training.

They will also work together to identify on-the-ground best practices for work–life balance and successful labor–management cooperation models that can be applied by firms, and to disseminate those across the region.

The Daegu City Happiness Promotion Agency operates the Daegu Work–Life Balance Support Center as a comprehensive social-service institution focused on citizen well-being and implements work–life balance policies.

The Yeongnam branch of the Korea Labor-Management Development Foundation is a public organization under the Ministry of Employment and Labor that carries out programs to promote labor–management cooperation and improve working conditions.

Acting Director Choi Hee-jae said, “Local small businesses have a strong need to improve working conditions but face limits in doing so on their own. This agreement will provide practical support that helps companies.”

Branch Head Oh Yoo-kyung said, “Reducing actual hours worked requires not only policy changes but also improvements in organizational culture. Drawing on the expertise of both organizations, we will strengthen tailored support for companies.”
